Expat Mortgages expands to Eindhoven
Our company already exists for more than 10 years and we have provided mortgage advice to thousands of people. Our most unique feature is that we only work with expats and this allowed us to become a specialist in what we do. Of course most expats and consequently our clients are to be found in Amsterdam. However the last few years we see more and more expats choosing other cities for their homes and moving all over the Netherlands. That is why we decided to follow them and provide our services in many other Dutch cities.
All the way to Eindhoven
In 2007, the company first opened an office in Amsterdam and then slowly and steadily started making step by step to expand in another cities – first in Haarlem/Hoofddorp, then The Hague and Rotterdam last June also in Utrecht. I am very proud to announce that we also reached Eindhoven. In November 2017 the company hired me and I am the dedicated advisor for Eindhoven and the surrounding area.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am 47 years old and I was born and raised in Roermond, a small but friendly touristic town just between Eindhoven and Maastricht. I did my bachelor degree in Business Logistic but after some conversations with a friend of mine who worked at ING bank I started getting enthusiastic about the stock and mortgage market. I like the interaction with clients, providing them with the right information and to make the right choice for the most optimal mortgage together. I have been sort of expat in the past too as I went working at Curacao, Netherland Antilles. I can really feel how it is to be in a new country and to have to start from scratch, not knowing where to find the right sources. I also worked the other way around with Dutch people who emigrated in Belgium and Germany. I like finding the optimal tailor-made solution for everybody. When I am not working I like to spend time with my son, hiking and skiing in the Italian Dolomites.
What is required to be a good Mortgage Advisor and why Expats should come to you?
I think the good mortgage advisor is the one who can guide the client through the process of arranging the mortgage in an informative and stress-free way. Please note that we are working for expats and all our communication (either verbal or written) and documentation is in English.
And don’t forget my network. I’m born and raised in the south of the Netherlands and I know almost all estate agents, valuators, construction companies and civil law notaries in this area. And I do speak there (southern) language!
My colleagues and I are very flexible and therefore it is also be possible to meet outside office hours and at a location of our clients’ preference. We will handle any necessary communication in Dutch with the bank or other third parties involved. Most important thing is that we will not try to sell you a particular mortgages but we will give you the options for you to choose and decide what will be best for you.
Once the mortgage is approved, it is time to sign the official deeds at the notary. We will make sure that a sworn interpreter will be present at the signing and your Expat Mortgage advisor will be present there as well.
One very important detail, which shouldn’t be forgotten, is that our fee is fixed and also tax deductible. So you can enjoy our services in full and receive the money at the end of the year!
You will be exclusively working with clients in Eindhoven region, tell us something about Eindhoven? What makes it attractive for Expats?
Eindhoven provides more value for your money, and that it is another way of living as a whole. More laid back, burgundian lifestyle, very close to Belgium which has an even more laidback lifestyle and is rich in food and drink. Antwerp is only 45 mins away, Maastricht 1 hour, and Eindhoven has beautiful nature surroundings in the south, like the Kempen, which is reachable within 30 minutes. Also you can find lots of venues, cinemas, concerts and theatre in the city. If you like watersport there is a beautiful spot around Roermond, which includes several lakes for boat trips and windsurfing or just relax. It also has one of the biggest outlet centers of Europe for your shopping! Roermond is 40 minutes away.
Any plans for the future?
Well, my plan for now is to make myself known to all expats in Eindhoven area. For that we will have an Expat Housing Seminar on 17th of April and we will also participate in “I am not a tourist fair” on 10th of June. If you want to know more, please contact us! Let’s meet and talk about your house!
